2008 - Computer Design Engineer
Tom,
I can’t thank you enough for the help I received from you. The transition
from military service to civilian life is often met with apprehension and
confusion, but you managed to make an important aspect of my transition very smooth.
After you reviewed and edited my resume, I participated in phone interviews with multiple prospective employers.
With your coaching, one prospective employer invited me for a panel-type interview. I received a formal job offer a week later, and am now gainfully employed as a Computer Design Engineer within a month of enlisting your services.
Words cannot express how grateful I am (especially considering the current recession) for your services.
Please feel free to use me as a reference.
Thank You,
Mitch Davis

To Whom It May Concern,
When I was laid off from my previous employer of three years in 2000 due to the companies’ cost cutting strategy, I was devastated. The hiring market was not at its prime and I was both in the midst of expanding my family and healing from an arthroscopic knee surgery. I quickly applied for unemployment and pulled out my resume for my frantic job search.
While the unemployment rate was on the rise, many companies’ research positions were frozen due to economic woes. I knew somehow I had to market my talents in such a fashion to stand out in the stacks of applications at the limited available jobs. I updated my resume and began flooding the market. My results were not what I expected; I would either not hear from a company on the available position or get the words of death after a preliminary phone interview, “We will keep in touch”!
This frustration continued slightly over a year. I turned to various books and websites on promoting oneself in a competitive job market. There were a lot of tips and tactics but none were specific to my field and personality. It seemed that for every strategy I found, I would find two to dispute it; they were lacking a personal touch.
My job search turning point came when I brought up my situation to Thomas Patrick Chuna, a great friend, who I knew was working as a head hunter for various individuals in the manufacturing software industry. The first item on the list of discussion was my resume. Knowing Tom had seen numerous resumes and had a direct communication with human resource personnel of large companies, he knew how to format a resume to highlight an applicant’s skills without fatiguing the eyes. My initial resume was too long (3 pages), too wordy and not precise.
Tom reformatted my resume after discussing in detail my work history, responsibilities & accomplishments. He highlighted my strong points while making it visible at a glance with the use of bullet points. Descriptions that took me a few sentences were clearly laid out in a sentence or two. The resume was condensed to two pages and was made easy to read while not losing content. At this point, I quickly redistributed my resume and got more calls in a short time frame.
Now that the first hurdle was cleared, Tom began to prep me for phone and personal interviews. He taught me how to engage the interviewer with my previous work experience and inquire about the position at hand in order to control the process without allowing him/her to catch me off guard. We conducted mock interviews and he coached me with my answers. Not too long after completing these training sessions, I was called in for an interview at Noveon Inc. (currently Lubrizol Corp.) and it was time to put all we have rehearsed to the test.
Tom guided me in learning as much about the company and helped me have a few questions in hand for the interviewer.
Seven years later, I am still with Lubrizol and enjoy my position. I have grown in my field and have been promoted as I become more of an asset to my group. If it was not for my good friend Tom Patrick, my resume would have continued to be overlooked and my reentry into the workforce would have been delayed longer.
As a husband and father of three children, I could not afford the financial and medical lapse. I highly recommend the professional services of Patrick International for career advancement and/or placement. Tom's cordial and proficient personality makes him the right man for the job.
Sincerely,
Angel Suarez Jr. ( Research Chemist - Lubrizol / Noveon)

Tom,
When I got done going to school in Wyoming, the world was open and I was on the hunt for the right job opportunity. The school I went to offered a generic resume, but I felt it just wasn't what employers were looking for when they wanted someone who stands out.
I sent my resume to you for review and after you edited my resume to make it unique and show my skills, I went to work.
With your words of advice and a resume with a solid foundation I have now started my career as a vehicle technician working at an awesome Freightliner facility in Belgrade, MT. Thank you for helping me get where I am today, and I recommend you to anyone who needs some help in this department!
